A 1st birthday

Dansk:

We were at our dear friends daughter, Noras 1st birthday today. It was such a nice party and really well organised.
Noras mom Gina had been smart enough to delegate different task to different people. For example one of our friends baked bread for the party another friend did a cake shaped like a girl, and I was asked to do cupcakes.
They held the party in a garden, and it was so lovely! I wish I had taken more pitures! They had put up a string from which pictures of Noras first year were hanging, there was a “Happy Birthday”-banner in pink and purple colours, and balloons were hanging from trees and bushes around the garden.
Gina ha organised some games and competitions. One was about the guests guessing how many marbles were in a jar. Another was that people had to guess what kind of animal-decoration would be on the cupcake that Nora would pick.
And when the guests left they could bring home a party favor; a bag of jelly bellys which was wrapped really pretty that Noras grandma had made.

I got really inspired for when it’s my turn to celebrate Frayas 1st birthday… Now I wish she was born in the summer, summer parties are so nice. And with garden parties space and noise isn’t as much an issue as it is indoor.
But Paolo always talks of celebrating his something-and-a-half birthday so he can get to have a garden party… Since we’re all born in the winter and very early spring, maybe the entire Voltolina family should just do that!
