4 cakes for a 40th birthday

English:
Intense Chocolate cream and zingy forest berry mousse… This was what I chose to put in the cakes that I was asked to make for my friend Martinas big birthday.
Her husband had planned a surprise birthday for her, and all of her family had come up to Denmark from Sardinia to be part of the surprise. They had made an amazing feast, Sardinian style with an entire roasted lamb, lasagne, salads, homemade focaccia, etc.
A great party. How they managed to prepare all this without her noticing escapes me. But with both Martinas husband and mother being wizards in the kitchen I guess it was possible.

The pictures are of the cake making process. I filled them with one layer of rich chocolate cream, and one layer of sharp forest berry mousse as well as a berry compote in each layer. The cakes were decorated with whipped cream, berries, mint leaves and gold.

Dansk:
